Nach seiner Entlassung aus dem Gefängnis will Rapper T.I. langsam ins Rampenlicht des Rap-Geschäftes zurückkehren. Demnächst soll es erste öffentliche Auftritte des Rappers geben, doch auch musikalisch hat er sich bereits zurückgemeldet.
Anfang der Woche veröffentlichte er den Comeback-Song "I'm Back" als Gratis Download (den es hier gibt), welcher gleichzeitig die erste Streetsingle aus seinem[inku] nächsten Soloalbum sein soll. Einen Titel für sein neues Album hat er bereits, verraten möchte T.I. diesen noch nicht. Der momentan angepeilte Veröffentlichungstermin ist der 24. August. In einem Statement erklärte er:
"I really do appreciate the support and how hard y'all was going in during the brief hiatus. The support don't go unnoticed and I don't take it lightly. This marks a special day for us, because we putting out the first song off the album, not an official first single, just something to keep the streets warm. It's properly entitled 'I'm Back.' It's a lot of things that needed to be spoken on, you know. In my absence, it was a lot of things that went down, a lot of matters that needed to be addressed and this was the greatest platform for me to do it...Album drops August 24th, title? I got one but I ain't gonna say it yet. It was the first song I did when I came home. You get me fresh out the box going in. I'm sure you guys will enjoy it...Middle of April, beginning of May. Y'all gonna start seeing me. Y'all already know, once again it's on. Like we always do this time."

T.I. will Andre 3000 für sein neues Album:
“Different people have been reaching out to Dre [because] he’s still one of the greatest around,” Toomp told VIBE, adding that T.I. has the advantage of Dre’s being a fan of his. “If they do [the song] I would really love to produce it. Dre is a fan of T.I. and [Young] Jeezy. And [T.I. and Jeezy] be like, ‘Dang, he really dig me like that?!’”
