"Walk Alone"
The album kicks off with a short intro that's basically a bunch of humming but things really get going when ?uestlove's cymbals crash through the speakers. It's immediately obvious that the album is picking up from where Game Theory and Rising Down left off sonically. The mood is still somber with Black Thought spitting, "Last place in a race I ain't never lead." Must be a reference to Jimmy Fallon's ratings.

"Dear God 2.0"
Plenty of blogs have noted how this track (which is the second single) samples the Monsters of Folk song of the same name. What they didn't know is that when you combine those vocals and ?uestlove's drums, you pretty much end up with some shit that sounds a lot like Portishead circa '95. Still, Black keeps it gully as he surveys the fucked-up conditions of the ghetto and spits a line that's destined to become an instant classic: "Right off work, off to work again/Look how they got me on the Def Jam payment plan." Ha! What up L.A. Reid?

"Radio Daze" f/ Blu, Porn, Dice Raw, & Mercedes Martinez
This is the first of two Blu features. The Cali MC fits in right away with Black, Dice Raw, and Porn, even though he mumbles his way through his verse. Meanwhile Black laments haters as "Banana Republicans." Dice Raw is much more aggressive, with his verse playing over a straight-up drum track. Or was that Porn's verse? Sorry, we have a hard time telling the two apart.

"Now Or Never" ft. Phonte Coleman & Dice Raw
By now, the album has settled into the dark mood that the group established on their last few records; weary thoughts ("Sunniest days of my life, I cried through them"), slow grooves, and hard drums. There's also a notable appearance by Phonte, a rapper with a small but dedicated fanbase who swears he's the most underrated rapper out. He gets a major look being on a record like this (Okay, maybe it's not that major, but for him it is) so it's only right that he...sings the hook? We don't recall Phonte spitting a verse, but he sure sang about how "everything is changing around me, and I want to change too." We were totally shocked he didn't wrap things up with "Obama for President!"

"How I Got Over" f/ Dice Raw
You know the song, you heard it months ago, and if you didn't give a shit about it then, you probably don't now. Which is too bad because it's still a great track (who knew Black could sing like that?). On the bright side, it sounds exactly the same as it did six months ago when it first leaked.

"The Day" f/ Blu, Phonte Coleman & Patty Crash
There's a brief interlude that starts the track on some light-and-smooth Dilla/Pete Rock shit. As far as the track itself, we're pretty sure the day in question is Sunday, since Blu sounds like he's headed to church because he feels guilty after having a good time the previous night. On the other hand, Black Thought stops worrying about society's ills (for once) and instead schemes on how to get the "girl of my dreams to give me Einstein." Patty Crash sings the hook while doing the best Chrisette Michele impression we've ever heard. Maybe we missed it, but we don't recall Phonte on this track.

"Right On" f/ Joanna Newsom & Sugar Tongue Slim
Not sure what song this track samples, but it was certainly offsetting. ?uestlove and company definitely add a number of effects to the sample: expanding it, adding an echo, and playing around with the speed. Not unlike what they did on the second half of "Star/Pointro." Newcomer Sugar Tongue Slim, a.k.a. STS (who really needs to think up a less pause-worthy name) hops on the track as well.

"Doin It Again" f/ John Legend
Not sure if John Legend is actually on the vocals or if his song "Ordinary People" is being sampled. There are heavy drums and cymbals crashing left and right. No surprise this is slated to be an upcoming single.

"The Fire" f/ John Legend, Rick Friedrich
With quotables like "I'm the definition of tragedy turned triumph," we're pretty sure "The Fire" eludes to the flames burning inside Black Thought's soul (And not these type of flaming rappers). This has strong crossover potential with the alt-rock crowd, especially with the Rick Friedrich vocals. We don't recall John Legend's vocals on this one, but there definitely are some keys on the track, so maybe that's him

"Web 20/20" f/ Truck North & Peedi Crakk
The start of this track could easily be mistaken for an old school b-boy jam. There's a busy background, hard drum breaks and cymbals, and an annoying sample sound we can't quite put our finger on. Peedi Crakk, who was once rumored to be joining the Roots, pops up on the track but he must have lost his voice when he was camel-hunting because his nasal tone is gone. It's whatever, though, because it's just nice to hear him rapping and not cleaning up the mess after we left, which is kind of what we expected him to be doing.

"Bonus Cut"
Pretty sure the title of this track will end up being something along the lines of "Hustler." Hook goes: "Baby better be hustler, baby be a hustler." But all this talk about kids really makes them sound extra gray in the afro. Whoever is featured on the track doesn't have kids, and is speaking about their hustle.
