Vor einigen Tagen veröffentlichte Beanie Sigel, ehemaliger Labelkollege und Freund von Jay-Z, einen Track namens "What You Talkin' Bout (Average Cat)", welcher offensichtlich an Jay-Z gerichtet ist und bereits für Aufsehen sorgte.
Über den Track und die Beweggründe gab Beanie Sigel in einem Radiointerview folgendes bekannt: "I think I held my tongue long enough about this whole Roc-a-Fella situation[inku]. I was the realest thing that happened to the Roc. The Roc was just a rock. I brought the Fellas to Roc-a-Fella Records; Hot 97, State Prop, y’all remember. I brought the street cred to that. I fought all them battles: Jadakiss, Nas, Dipset. Anybody you woulda told me to go after. Matter of fact, you ain’t even have to tell me. I frontlined for that thing of ours, for that diamond that people was throwin’ up. I’da took a bullet at that time."
Anhören kann man sich den Track hier. Mittlerweile ist der Song wohl auch zu Jay-Z durchgedrungen. Dieser äußerte sich während einer Pressekonferenz in Montreal, Kanada dazu und meint, dass er alles für Beanie Sigel getan hat, was möglich war:
"He has a lot to complain about. Beanie Sigel, at the time, and you can look it up if you'd like, let's just be honest, was driving two Bentleys," he noted. "With his momma in the sticks and selling 800,000 records. I don't know. What more can you do for somebody at that point? At some point, you have to look in the mirror and look at yourself. Beanie Sigel had a record deal, a record label and a clothing line and never went platinum. Ever. I don't know, in the history of Rap, if anyone has ever done so much with so little. What more can you do for a person at that point?"
Man darf gespannt sein, wie sich diese Situation weiterentwickelt.

Nun hat Beanie Sigel in Kollaboration mit 50 Cent einen weiteren Disstrack gegen Jay-Z veröffentlicht.
Friend or foe yo, state your biz. Former Jay-Z friend and rider, Beanie Sigel has seemingly decided to be foe by aligning himself with 50 Cent for “I Go Off,” the opening salvo of shots fired at Jay-Z. The song uses the beat from the classic break beat from Grandmaster Caz’ “Yvette” routine.
The song doesn’t feature any actual rhymes from 50, just his trademark growling and sung hooks full of bad intentions. While Bean’s first verse is a retread from a song he did with Freeway (which as a first order MC is beneath him), his words get more specific in the second verse where he mimics his mentor’s style of interpolating Biggies rhymes into very thinly veiled references, capping it off with “ I earned every buck that was mine, I ain’t never cry over fucking dimes, don’t make me go off!” While Beans never outright mentions Jay by name, anyone paying attention to this situation can draw the line. It is 50 Cent’s ad-libs that make it abundantly clear who’s in the scope, calling out Mr. Carter by name:
“You let the money change you Jay. You used to be from Marcy, niggaa. Now you a pass the Grey Poupon niggaa. You don’t want the shooters? I’ll take them. Nigga you feed the wolves or the wolves feed off you. Eat your ass alive. I live by a code ass creed. Strategy. It’s your move.”
Fifty macht sich bei mir ein weiteres mal unsypathisch indem er pünktlich zu seiner Albumveröffentlichung Pseudo-Beef produziert.

Halte es insgesamt nicht für sehr sinnvoll einen Jay-Z zu dissen. Ich mein, den interessiert es doch KEIN STÜCK mehr, ob irgendwelche broke ass niggas ihn da ans Bein pissen wollen. Der lacht doch nur die ganze Zeit und fragt sich, wieso die ihre Zeit mit sowas verschwenden während sein Konto jede Minute dicker und dicker wird.
Ist schon dämlich.
